Playing Customer

Last night I treated my wife to dinner for her birthday and we decided to try the Tinderbox as a customer.  I have been in the restaurant day and night since we opened last May but have never experienced it from a table.  It was a great experience.  We decided to try the new Four-Course Chef's Tasting Menu.  For those who haven't tried, and are adventurous, here's the deal:  The entire table must participate…you put yourselves in the hands of Chef Scott who will prepare a unique four courses (ours included an appetizer trilogy–crispy shrimp wonton on a peanut reduction, rabbit terrine, marinated beets and goat cheese–that was followed by house made rabbit and pork sausage on hot mash potato and onion salad and then a spicy pork cheek on hand-made egg noodle.  We finished with a desert trilogy of roasted apples, donut w/tres leches sauce and a peanut butter chocolate cup w/peanut butter mousse).  This is a great and fun way to sample the different flavors from the kitchen-I highly recommend it.  We were served professionally by E.J.  For those of you that don't know E.J. her wine knowledge is exceptional; next time you're in, ask her what will compliment  your meal and she will deliver, spot on.
